Cedaredge, Grand Mesa and the entire Surface Creek Valley has some of the the most beautiful views you can imagine.  Ask Cedaredge residents what they like best about living here and one of the first answers is always "we have 4 distinct seasons".  As you will see in these pictures, fall is one of our favorite times of the year.  We hope you will love Cedaredge as much as we do and enjoy our photos.

  • From Cedaredge,on clear days you can see 100 miles away! Breathtaking views are to be had in all directions.

    The Ute Indians called the Grand Mesa "Thunder Mountain"  The lightening and thunder storms are awesome to watch. 

  • Cedaredge is the gateway to the Grand Mesa which is the Largest Flat Top Mountain in the World- it reachs heights of 11,000 feet in elevation.

  • There Are Over 300 Lakest to fish on Grand Mesa and Miles of Wilderness to Explore! Activities abound summer and winter.

    The Grand Mesa was formed when lava seeped through fissures in the earth 10 million years ago. 

  • There are trees for miles and miles on beautiful Grand Mesa Colorado. The Mesa is lush with Aspen, Engelmann Spruce and Subalpine fir.

  • Awesome views from the Grand Mesa any time of the year. Stand on top of the Mesa and veiw Cedaredge, Colorado down below.

  • Thousands of trees reaching towards the sky. Vibrant colors of yellows, oranges and reds all bunched together on the Grand Mesa of Colorado.

  • Never ending rows of trees on top of the Grand Mesa.

  • The Black Canyon of the Gunnison. The Black Canyon reaches depths of over 2000 feet, while only being 1500 feet across. The sun illuminates the walls briefly during the day, hence the name "Black Canyon".

    The Black Canyon can we reached from Montrose Colorado or from the other side of Crawford Colorado. Teh temperture at the bottom of the black canyon is approximatley 8 degrees warmer than at the rim. 
  • There are many different types of wildflowers on the Grand Mesa and all throughout Colorado. The Lupine grows wild all over the mountain sides. They bloom though the summer months.

  • The trees are even beautiful in the winter time. Colorado is such a unique area any time of the year.

     

  • Take a long evening walk and enjoy the sunsets.

     

  • Snow on the Grand Mesa. Powderhorn Ski Resort recieves over 250'' of snow fall each year.

  • View the glorious sites as the sun rises and sets in Colorado. Camp on the Grand Mesa and enjoy the views.

  • The fall colors are abundent on the mountain sides of Colorado. Take a Sunday drive up to the Grand Mesa and see the beautiful reds and yellows.

    When Fall is here, come visit us at the Cedaredge Applefest.  This is held around the first or second week of October. Many booths to buy from and plenty of food to eat. 
  • Thousands of trees reach towards the sky on the Grand Mesa.

  • Beautiful cloud formations. Watch the thunderstorms roll in with the huge cumulonimbus clouds.

  • View the beautiful skies over Colorado!!

  • The mountain sides of Colorado are colored with brilliant reds, yellows and coppers.

  • Wild turkey love this area. The wildlife in Colorado is abundant. Sit on your porch and watch the animals play.

  • Cedaredge and the Grand Mesa are home to many different animals. View the deer and other wildlife in your backyard. Moose were recently relocated on the Grand Mesa.

  • See the amazing wildlife on the Grand Mesa. Deer, elk, moose, bear, mountain lion and many other wild animals roam the mountainside.

  • Beautiful skies over Colorado!!

  • The snow can really pile up on the Grand Mesa. It usually melts off the roads in Cedaredge by midday

  • Snow covers the trees on the Grand Mesa. Enjoy the winter and ski Powderhorn, cross country ski or rent some snowshoes and go snowshoeing.

  • Rent a cabin on the Grand Mesa and enjoy the serenity of the mountain.

  • Take a winter drive and see the deep snowdrifts on the Grand Mesa.

  • The Grand Mesa with a slight dusting of early snow.

  • Can you find the ice climber? Ouray Colorado has some of the best Ice-climbing around. The ice is so cold and clear that it appears blue.
